A nosy round a Vietnamese village

Eating dinner one night in Hoi An, we were approached by a gentleman called Mr Phong, who invited us to his house the next day. He handed us a book of testimonials from people all around the world, stating how wonderful it was to see his home and village. We decided to give it a shot and arranged to be collected at 9am the next morning. Only later on that evening talking to Tim's parents and seeing their concerned faces as we explained what we were doing, did it dawn on us that we really didn't know anything about Mr. Phong, or indeed where we were being taken in a taxi. However, we have no kidnapping stories to tell, and had a wonderful morning being shown around a Vietnamese village and a delicious feast cooked by Mrs. Phong.

Mr Phong took us to the local kindergarten. We assumed it must be the school holidays as it was so quiet. Then we spotted this row of mini shoes outside one of the rooms. It was perhaps one of the sweetest sights I have ever seen, as Mr Phong opened the door to a huge room full of tiny sleeping children. I hope my flash didn't disturb nap time!
